Monday, start of Unit of Study 2

Happy Monday! Today we did 100 Mile Club, then came in and started Unit of Study 2. The first thing we did was empty our binders of everything from Unit 1. Then we had a spelling pretest (those words!), started Word Work, did a KWL on ancient civilizations, read a fluency selection by echo reading, and did close reading. We watched a Gooru video and starting filling out a GRAPES chart on ancient civilizations.
Some students moved math groups and those started today. We all worked on lesson 3-1 in math (dependent and independent variables).
We started subject and object pronouns and had our last day of this round of science rotations.

We read in our science books and took AVID notes on what we read.
I read the book Mudball to you. Please take the AR quiz!
In math, my group worked on problem solving, which involved multiplication and division equations. We also practiced graphing equations.
We worked some more on our final drafts of writing. Finally, we had science rotations.

We also worked on DEA vocabulary.
In math, my group worked on graphing equations.
We worked on final drafts of our agricultural revolution writing.
We had day 2 of the second round of science rotations.

In math, we took a practice test that I created on our new program Illuminate. Then we played Jeopardy to review solving one step equations.
